Carrie Nelson, Spa Owner



Carrie Nelson has always been a beauty product junkie. This California-girl’s mission is to promote healthy skin and teach her clients to protect and preserve their natural beauty. Her experience working with plastic surgeons, cosmetic nurses and other aestheticians gave Carrie the courage to embark upon her own beauty journey.

Licensed for Advanced Skincare at Ms. Marty’s Beauty Academy in San Francisco Carrie secured a job working with a prominent plastic surgeon in Marin County, Ca. For several years her responsibilities included chemical exfoliation of the skin for age spots and photo damage treatments. Carrie was given the opportunity to work with the most cutting edge techniques and products when she became partner in a Laser Center.

In 2005 Carrie introduced innovative skincare services and products when she opened Biondina in Mill Valley, Ca. Founded on serious anti-aging skincare treatments Carrie and her handpicked staff offer luxury services and coveted beauty products in an intimate boutique style clinic. “Our client leads a busy life is well maintained and loves to indulge in a little pampering in an intimate, relaxing environment.” The cozy space is rich with style and personality. Clients can enjoy a cocktail while receiving a treatment, some services even include dinner reservations or a night on the town. “We want our clients to look and feel fabulous, if we can help accomplish that inside or outside the spa we will.”

At Biondina clients enjoy a modern beauty experience using state of the art Dermaglow mircodermabrasion system and oxygen machine. Carrie’s most requested services include: The 4layer Facelift and Oxygen Facial. Specializing in chemical peels, she is able to give her clients the most visible and immediate results. “I am are loyal to high-end products Skinceauticals and In Fiore.” says Nelson. “Still, I’m constantly incorporating new products to the mix.” New to Biondina is Organic Options. Carrie hand-mixes organic fruits and vegetables to create organic facials and peels. When she’s not busy planning events and parties like Beauty for the New Economy, a beauty seminar where she and her staff show clients economical ways to keep your glow until your next appointments she is working on formulating her own skincare product line.

 Tanja Godden, massage therapist

As a literature major in Düsseldorf, Germany Tanja Godden never dreamed she would dedicate her life to the healing of others. In 1993 after a friend opened a center for healing in Berkley California, she soon realized that she too, needed to heal. Meditation, visualization, Tai Chi and Chi Nei Tsang a detoxifying massage involving; acupressure, abdominal massage, and breathing exercises were a few of the things Tanja learned during her three year internship. Tanja was certified at Alive and Well, the Institute of Conscious BodyWork.

“In Germany we believe older women are the best massage therapists. I have a lot of experience with the human body and my knowledge in Chi Nei Tsang helps me connect with my clients on a very deep level.” Tanja brings over 14 years experience to Biondina Spa in Mill Valley California. Specializing in
Chi Nei Tsang, a form of massage known to help resolve health conditions including: chronic abdominal, back, hip, and shoulder pain, infertility, miscarriage, fibroids, acne, bloating, and many other conditions.

With clients ranging from housewives to opera singers to tennis pros to Olympic athletes, Tanja’s clients enjoy her unique combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue and hot stone massage. Using only the highest quality massage lotion and organic aroma therapies Tanja’s soothing touch allows them to de-stress. “I always give my clients 100%. I want them to leave feeling uplifted, well taken care of and knowing that I am totally there for them.”

 “Ella” Erendira Gutierrez, Nail Specialist/Hair & Make-up Artist
“Ella” Erendira Gutierrez is a college student, salsa dancer and Biondina’s Beauty Expert. Specializing in nails, hair and makeup Ella was inspired to become a cosmetologist at her first salon visit. “I remember feeling as though that was the day that I became a woman” says Ella. I wanted other people to feel just as good as I did. I knew that feeling had to be shared and I wanted to be that someone who gave that experience to others.”

After graduating from Mc Ateer, one of the most dangerous high schools in San Francisco, Ella attended Ms. Marty’s Beauty Academy. “I would have to say the fact that I have a cosmetology license has been really advantageous. I’m able to work on almost anybody and do a variety of things.” Graduation brought a few years of assisting in salons, with fashion shows and photo shoots. Assisting a MAC artist gave Ella the experience she needed to work part time at Benefit Cosmetics which lead to a full time job with a plastic surgeon. That is where her path crossed with Carrie Nelson. Carrie soon left the plastic surgeon to open her own skincare spa. Ella kept in touch with her while she was building Biondina and soon began working at there. “I think of Carrie as a role model for young women and I am motivated by her inspiring attitude.”

Biondina, an appointment only boutique style spa offers cutting-edge beauty treatments and spa services. Ella specializes in nails, hair, makeup and facials. “Biondina has a young spunky attitude that speaks hot girly girly and focuses on doing exactly what we say we can do. We are all different ages, come from very different backgrounds and we each have something unique to offer.” New to the spa is Organic Options, Ella uses organic nail polish remover, nail polish and homemade organic scrubs for manicure and pedicure services.

When Ella is not at Biondina she is studying or salsa dancing. She is also passionate about giving back, she recently worked with the Princess Project giving prom makeovers to high school contest winners. While, making others feel beautiful has become her reality, Ella has begun developing a hair product line, “I hope some day my products will be used in our spa.”

 Tracy, Arch Expert
Tracy has perfected the art of arching, she has been doing brows since her college days at UC Berkeley as a film theory major. “The ladies at Biondina are great and I love the intimacy and relationships created in a smaller salon.”

After working in cosmetic sales for a year, Tracy was a manger at a high-end boutique. Tracy was recently licensed as an aesthetician “I just love brows and skincare.” Biondina’s Arch Expert specializes in brow, bikinis and Brazilians. Using only Chamomile Calming wax, Tweezerman tweezers and oxygen machine Tracy smoothes and removes unwanted hair.
